International Platform for Defense and Support for the Western Sahara Calls on International Community to Support Search for Political Solution on the Basis of Moroccan Autonomy Plan

The 3,000 members of the International Platform for Defense and Support for the Moroccan Sahara have called on the entire international community, represented by the Security Council, to support the search for a realistic, practicable, and enduring political solution, that rests on compromise to the regional dispute over the Moroccan Sahara, on a single and the exclusive basis of the Moroccan Autonomy Initiative.

 

Morocco Elected Vice-President of 14th UN Congress on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice

Morocco was elected on Sunday as vice-president of the 14th Congress on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice, which kicked off in Kyoto, Japan.

Participants in the meeting, held in hybrid format, also elected, by acclamation, the Japanese minister of Justice, Yoko Kamikawa, as president of this 14th congress, in addition to 21 vice-presidents including Morocco in the person of ambassador Azzeddine Farhane, the Kingdom's permanent representative to international organizations in Vienna, says the Moroccan embassy in Austria in a release.

Indian Newspaper Highlights Relevance of Moroccan Autonomy Initiative for Sahara

In the interest of the Saharawi nation, culture and traditions, the Moroccan autonomy initiative remains the only just, equitable and practical solution that leads to a realistic outcome to this conflict, the Indian paper said on Monday. 
 

In an analysis, Indian author Rudroneel Ghosh noted that international bodies, including the UN Security Council and many stakeholders in the international community, have described the autonomy plan as "serious" and "credible".

In a statement to MAP after a meeting with Moroccan ambassador to Spain Karima Benyaich, Pau welcomed the exemplary cooperation between Morocco and Spain in many areas, notably at the political, economic and cultural levels.

The Spanish official underlined the importance of promoting parliamentary diplomacy between the two countries, which is fundamental in fostering bilateral relations, he said.

During the meeting, the two officials surveyed a number of international and regional issues of shared interest.
