Morocco, a Key Partner for ICESCO (DG)

The projects undertaken by the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO) in the fields of education, teaching, culture and heritage preservation, make Morocco a "key" partner for the organization, said, Tuesday in Rabat, its Director General Salim ben Mohammed Al-Malik.

During a meeting with speaker of the House of Representatives, Habib El Malki, Ben Mohammed Al-Malik noted that the ICESCO, like various international organizations, considers the reform vision of His Majesty King Mohammed VI and his high directives as a benchmark for the development of plans and action programs, noted the House of Representatives in a statement.

For his part, El Malki praised ICESCO's work, recalling the central role played by the late His Majesty King Hassan II for its creation in 1982.

In addition, the president of the legislative institution noted that the ICESCO enjoys great weight at the international level with its 54 member States, calling on the organization to further focus its efforts in support of African countries.

El Malki also commended the initiatives launched by the ICESCO in favor of cultural development, openness to countries and organizations, support for dialogue among civilizations and encouragement of the knowledge society, considering the ICESCO as a "soft" power with which the Kingdom shares the same values and trends.
