The Moroccan Sahara as the natural continuation of the country that the territory is in no way a question of decolonization. Therefore, the Moroccan Sahara is today the most prosperous, stable and advanced region of Africa, thanks to the New Development Model for the Southern Provinces launched in 2015, by His Majesty King Mohammed VI.

I have visited MINURSO in Laayoune on several occasions and the dedication of the individuals fulfilling UN obligations is admirable.
The United Nations is the only and unique legitimate authority in handling the regional dispute on Moroccan Sahara issue. In its resolution 2548, the Security Council “called upon the parties to resume negotiations under the auspices of the Secretary-General, taking into account the efforts made since 2006 and subsequent developments with a view to achieving a just, lasting, and mutually acceptable political solution”.
The Protocol Office of the United Nations has swiftly removed “polisario” from its directory of Permanent Missions in New York, after a software glitch resulted into the separatist group being briefly included in this listing.
The Protocol Office has presented its apologies for this “grave mistake”, and has immediately taken action to correct the glitch.
As an armed non-state group, “polisario” does not hold any official status with the United Nations, which comprises only Member States.
